Lara Rashid

Lara Rashid (born 11 September 1994 in Norway) is a Norwegian-Kurdish journalist, author and former politician. She was a political adviser for the Workers' Youth League (AUF) and later worked as a journalist for VG. Rashid was a survivor of the 2011 attacks on Utøya, where she lost her older sister, Bano. Lara Rashid (born 11 September 1994 in Norway) is a Norwegian-Kurdish journalist, author and former politician. She was a political adviser for the Workers' Youth League (AUF) and later worked as a journalist for VG. Rashid was a survivor of the 2011 attacks on Utøya, where she lost her older sister, Bano. She has since spoken publicly about the attacks and their aftermath and has appeared in several documentaries, interviews and other productions concerning the events. Rashid was portrayed by Seda Witt in Paul Greengrass's 2018 film 22 July. In 2021, she published her autobiographical book Hold meg til jeg sovner – et liv i skyggene av 22. juli.
