He was one of first filmmakers who joined the Cinema-ye Azad in 1969 and started making 8 mm films. Later in 1974 he founded and directed the education center of the Cinema-ye Azad. He was also involved in the production of several TV series during the 70s. He has collaborated with some of the most important directors of modern and avant-garde theatre in Iran, such as Bijan Mofid, Arby Ovanessian and Abbas Nalbandian. among his most significant works in cinema is his acting in Faridoun Rahnema's film "Son of Iran is Unaware of His Mother" (1976).
