Alexander Gauland

Eberhardt Alexander Gauland (born February 20, 1941, in Chemnitz) is a German lawyer, publicist, and right-wing populist politician (AfD, formerly CDU). From 2017 to 2019, Gauland was one of two federal spokespersons (party chairmen) of the AfD. He has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2017; from 2017 to 2021, he served as one of the two chairpersons of his party's parliamentary group, alongside Alice Weidel.
